Ladies' Guild
The ‘Ladies Guild’ group is a social group, formed in 1963. It is affiliated to St Guthlac's Church, though it is ecumenical group, so is open to all women to attend. Meetings, held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from September to June, are a friendly gathering with speakers and visits. Any funds raised are used to support Church projects and the Green School where the meetings are usually held. Meetings in the Green School, usually start at 7.30pm. Members pay a very modest annual subscription. Visitors and guests are always welcome to attend as a one-off, for which a small charge is made on the evening.
Traditionally the September meeting starts with a short service in Church, followed by a fun packed fund-raiser, such as an auction, a bring and buy, or tea party. The January meeting is a usually meal at a local pub and in June we invite guests to join us for our annual outing. Other meetings during the year include illustrated talks, demonstrations or a trip to somewhere local. We have recently enjoyed a cheese and wine evening, a quiz night, and an outing to Molecy Mill in West Deeping.
