Bell Ringing
We have an active band of bellringers of all ages and abilities. The bells are rung regularly for Church Services and also for special and state occasions.
We welcome visiting ringers from other churches, and regularly provide help with ringing at Peterborough Cathedral.
We have a rewarding practice night on Thursday evenings in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Our band has a great reputation for teaching newcomers how to ring and we love to show people of all ages the enjoyment that can be had by controlling the heavy metal bells in the church tower. As part of our commitment to teaching and promoting bellringing, we also ring peals (approximately 3 hours ringing) and quarter peals (45 minutes ringing) on various occasions throughout the year.
Bell ringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and also helps keep you fit (especially climbing some of those tower steps!). Of course, it also makes a glorious sound! Ringers come from all walks of life and generally range in age from just ten years old to those in their eighties.
