We had a great time at our special evening with local sculptor Paul Bainbridge.

Paul shared stories and insights from his remarkable career as a portrait sculptor for Madame Tussauds, giving us a unique glimpse into the world of sculpture and creativity.

They enjoyed toasted marshmallows, freshly pressed apple juice, and apples cooked to perfection in foil over the fire – a wonderful mix of fun, friendship, and thankfulness for God’s creation. 🍏🍎

What a lovely way to wrap up our Harvest celebrations!

]]> https://stguthlacs.org.uk:443/992/Easter-Day-Service Sunday Club stguthlacs_46318 Sat, 08 Mar 2025 13:44:26 +0000 Earlier this year, we launched our new Sunday Club, which meets every Sunday at 10am (apart from the first Sunday of each month) in the Green School – the hall just opposite the church.

The sessions have been full of fun, with crafts, games, stories and activities that help children explore faith in a creative and age-appropriate way. Parents can stay and enjoy a cuppa or coffee, or drop off their children for the session.

Towards the end of each morning, the children join the congregation in church for the closing part of the service.

The club is free of charge and open to all children – our crafts are ideal for primary-aged children, and we have a toddler area for little ones too.

It’s been wonderful to see new faces joining us each week, and we’re really enjoying this new way of helping our youngest members grow in faith and friendship.

 

]]> https://stguthlacs.org.uk:443/979/Sunday-Club New facilities stguthlacs_45369 Tue, 22 Oct 2024 12:13:43 +0100 We’re delighted to share that earlier this year, we completed the redevelopment of part of our Church Hall — the Green School building.

Thanks to a Shared Prosperity Fund grant from South Kesteven District Council, we were able to install a new, larger kitchen, remove some of the old storage cupboards to create a more open and flexible space, and refurbish the toilet facilities to make them more accessible for everyone.

We’re thrilled that it is now fully reopened and ready to be enjoyed once again. The refurbished space is now more welcoming, usable, and accessible for the local community, for those hiring the hall, and as a secondary worship space.
